A pair of fires overnight in Jalacte Village has raised. eyebrows. The first took place last night at 9:30 when 34-year-old Steven Koy, a farmer and Pastor lost both his home and church to a fire. He attempted to extinguish the flames but his efforts weren't enough to save the kitchen in his home or the back portion of the church.

The second fire happened just a few hours later at 4:30 a.m. this morning. 42-year old Magdalena Chun was at home preparing to head to Punta Gorda Town when her common-law husband Fermin Edger Sho arrived, started an argument with her and allegedly set fire to the house.

The estimated value of the house and church was $5,000 dollars while the estimated value of Chun's home was $8,000 dollars.
