And while those cyclists continue to ride on the road to gold, the road to Machakilha has come a long way - and today, for the first time in history, the first vehicle was driven to the village. It's an incredible feat for the residents who have had to spend grueling hours on foot just to make it out of the village. And that's not all, that truck, driven by Minister of State in the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Ramiro Ramirez, was carrying solar panels. These were what the three indigenous women engineers we previously reported on have been waiting for to begin their work of providing electricity to Machakilha.
