It's the most expensive public structure ever built in Belize - but that didn't matter to some kids who vandalised it this weekend.

Over the weekend vandals or likely just mischievous kids from the neighbourhood broke into the building. Reports are that they came through the roof and even swam in the vats before entering the building proper to scuff up the floors including the basketball court, and empty the fire extinguishers.

Reports are that since public events were cancelled after COVID appeared - thus taking away the only source of revenue for its upkeep - the building been less that optimally maintained.
