And….moving on now to the Cayo District - where there are three deaths to report, we start in Georgeville this morning, where resident Orlando "Brown" Spain had been missing since Saturday morning.

And last night, when a rainstorm brought an ominous feeling to the village, Spain's 98-year-old grandmother called her other grandson to express her concern.

And true to her premonition,"Brown" wasn't missing at all; he was dead, seated on a couch in his apartment.

The discovery shocked his family and the village this morning and at this hour they've still yet to determine just how "Brown" met his tragic end. Cherisse Halsall spoke to the family:

This is the house in Georgeville when Orlando "Brown" Spain was found dead. That discovery was made early this morning when Spain's brother found him seated upright in a sofa set. Best guesses at this moment are that his body had been in that position for days.

David McDougal, Brother of the deceased
"When we broke down the door that's when I saw my brother sitting down. I saw my brother sitting down in a sofa set with his head backway, face looked like it was mashed up and it was bleeding, blood on the floor and Mr. Smith then called in the scenes of crime who then arrived and scenes of crime went in and CIB police they looked at him and they said they didn't see a sign of foul play, so they got the body bag and they placed him in the body bag and they took him to Belize CIty to the morgue."

"My brother is very helpful. He goes to the farm he's working right now for a guy named Lee. He's a handyman in the village, you can call him to do anything and he'll do it for you. I found him there and I couldn't believe it."

But Is it foul play or just death by natural causes?

David McDougal, Brother of the deceased
"The way that I saw my brother I don't know, I can't say that they killed him I can't say what happened but I'm asking the police to do a full investigation because I want to bury my brother peacefully."

"I don't believe it's natural causes, I want the police to do a proper investigation, and let me know and then I will know if it's from sickness or from something else but the way I saw him it didn't look too proper."

"Brown's" brother says that the scene was so gruesome that he, with the help of neighbor and friend Ezra Cain, burned the sofa set.

Eza Cain, Friend of the Deceased
"Me and Mr. Spain we go to ranch together. Him and I go to work together. I didn't know what really took place because I hadn't been there since Friday until this morning, because I left my working machete there and so I decided to go this morning to pick up my machete and go to the farm. But when I got there my sister, she told me that she haven't seen Brown since Friday, she said she called brown but she hasn't see in him and then when I got by the house, I see some "koncas" start flying around and I say this looks like something funny."

"We went back and when he got back there he called the police man and after that he told me to borrow a pinch bar and so I went and borrow the pinch bar and he went and whap down the fence and open the window and saw his brother, so he had to broke the door from the permission from the police to open the door and when he looked in the chair I saw the guy dead. Only Jah know how that happen, but I wasn't around. Him and I always be together, so he was like my brother but when I saw that this morning, I couldn't take it I started to vomit and all with the scent."

And with grown men struggling to process the mysterious death the family decided to spare their matriarch any knowledge of the incident.

Cherisse Halsall:
"How has this affected your grandmother who lives upstairs?"

David McDougal, Brother of the deceased
"Well at this time she still doesn't know, I don't know how to tell her but she certainly has a feeling that something happened and whatever happen we'll leave it in the hand of god."

Indeed Orlando Spain's death has affected everyone in his life.

David McDougal, Brother of the deceased
"He had a little dog with him always he was in there for two days with him so I let him out this morning and he was happy to come out. So, I brought him home this morning, this little puppy. His name is Snow."

"Brown was a nice person, Brown got a long with a lot of people. A lot of people know brown. I have is cellular phone right now that I found inside the house. Brown died and a lot of people are still calling. He was a good person, so I don't know what to say. We are just waiting on the postmortem and then we will know."

Orlando Spain was the son of well-known San Pedro resident and former politician Mel Spain.
