On Monday we told you the story of Albert Broaster, the butcher from the Finnegan Market who, on Sunday morning, was fatally stabbed by his common-law-wife Lisa Lauriano.
Lauriano was later detained, bt apparently not charged. Still, there may be some element of retaliation at play because last night her house on Iguana Street was burnt to the ground.
Was it an act of revenge?
Lauriano's cousin and neighbor Georgia Curry says no.
We spoke to her earlier today.
Voice of: Georgia Curry, Lisa Lauriano's cousin
"To be honest she and I grew up together so I classify her as my sister because we grew up in the same house. What happened is that an incident happened on Sunday out at the market with her and her common-law where she ended up killing him."
"Now, fi mek my compadre who's a JP she calls me and told me Georgia they are going to burn down your house."
Cherisse Halsall:
"Your house?"
Georgia Curry, Lisa Lauriano's cousin
"Yes, and they want to kill me. So, she said Georgia the best thing for you to do is to move out from back here."
"Now, I was here last night on my phone talking to my people and I smelled something burning so I jumped up and I said Pa, Pa, Pa something is burning, something is burning. So when he jumped up I thought it was my house because the flames were like exactly in front of my house, so when we looked through the window we saw that it was her house and this happened like after 8 so."
"But despite the fact of what she did I don't wish this on my worst enemy to have someone burn down your house so that's the situation right there."
Cherisse Halsall:
"In your opinion is this retaliation plain and simple."
Georgia Curry, Lisa Lauriano's cousin
"What happened is when the police came, because they were here from last night watching my house. The police came and say that its my house next, but I was like why? I did nobody wrong around here. That's the reason I am from work to home, I keep in here and I am locked up in here and yet my name still got called up. One of the same young men message and say how the police told him that I am calling on them."
Cherisse Halsall:
"Broaster's family says that your cousin/sister went to Finnegan market to ask your brother for some money and that's how the whole incident started to unfold, do you know anything different?"
Georgia Curry, Lisa Lauriano's cousin
"The information I got, because there are other people that he messes with, he came to my house and he said Lisa went to his house around minutes to five the morning wanting money to go to village. He told her that he didn't have any money, he told her that he had a mackerel. She told him to give her it and she will sell it and get the money to go. That is what I got to understand what he told me."
"So now when I got the information that what happened out at market, I got to understand that he had chopped her and that is the reason why she hollered that she is tired of him beating her, so she stabbed him."
"I witnessed so many times with him and her right here. She would come here with next man, he would get upset and break down her house, and it's not the first time she stabbed him. He does the same thing - knocking out her teeth. I don't get between domestic thing, because next minute they are sweet, sweet. So it shocked me to get that disturbing news Sunday that she killed him out there. but, listen to me the same that came to tell me about the fish thing he told me that Lisa told him somebody will die today, that's what she told him, somebody will die today but I didn't know that, that was on her mind."
Best information is that Lisa Lauriano has been released, and based n the several reports of domestic abuse she made against by Broaster - she may not face charges.
