And while Christopher Hyde is the latest victim of the south side fire plot, Lisa Lauriano may have been the first.

She's the woman who was accused of fatally stabbing her common-law husband. Lauriano was released from detention yesterday but due to arson has no home to go back to.

This evening we asked the Commissioner for his opinion on her release.

"Sir on Lisa Loreano who was accused of stabbing her common law husband on Sunday, she's been released for 2 reasons. One she has documentation to prove that she is mentally ill and two she had filed several complaints against him, however Lisa is known to be a violent individual. What happens when or if she kills again?"

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"I this is indeed so, that she has been certified mentally ill, that would have no baring on the decision to charge or not to charge. That determination as to whether or not a person is fit to stand trail is one done by the court having heard certain evidence. I am certain that the DDP or the DDP representative whoever advises the police on that matter were looking more inline of the evidence at hand, what may have led to the incident and what transpired during the incident in arriving to that determination and I don't think that at this time the directive is that she's not to be charged. I think that the police were instructed to carry out further investigation and once the further investigation has been conducted, then the file will be sent back to the DPP or the DPP representative for advice and then a final determination will be made on the matter then."

Reporter
"At this time she is out on bail."

Chester Williams
"Not on bail, she is out."

As you heard Lauriano had, over the years, made multiple reports against her common-law husband but according to his family, she had inflicted several wounds on him as well.
