And today, the Commissioner of Police spoke only of the murder that occurred last night. But there wasn't much to say since there has been no official report from their counterparts in Mexico. Here's how he put it:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"We have gotten that information as well and from what we have been made to understand, it may have been some drug related issue, we will still await and see when we get official word from our Mexican counterparts and normally we get that through the diplomatic means and so I believe the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belize have been contacted by our counterparts in Mexico, giving whatever information that needs to be obtain, informing the family and these sort of things so officially we have not received anything form the Mexican border."
The ComPol said this incident is unrelated to the recent murder of a known drug figure, Eder Hall, in Corozal.
