Three women suffered various degrees of injuries from a man armed with a steel pipe in San Ignacio on Monday night. One of them - the mother - passed away yesterday.
According to police, the assailant, 59-year-old Merecedez Pais, otherwise known as Rudy, started beating his common-law wife, 27-year-old Roxana Garcia, her sister, 20-year-old Emerita Flores, and their mother, 64-year-old Angela Flores Rodriguez.
Rodriguez's husband told our colleagues at Plus TV that Garcia and Pais were always fighting, but this time, it got murderous.

Rodriguez said that Pais wasn't always aggressive, but he noted a significant change after the assailant and Garcia were together for a while. Now, Pais has been arrested and charged for grievous harm, but his charge is likely to be upgraded.
