Bill Jr Building On the Sea? He Says No

Issuing lots on the sea bed has been a topic of much controversy over the years, and we've reported on many such cases since the year 2000, especially along the Belize City Coastline where seafront properties are much sought after.

So when reports reached our newsroom of a construction site that was building on the seabed, we went looking for answers.

The reports claimed that the construction belonged to William Lindo Jr - Bill Lindo's son. We asked him what permissions had been gotten for the construction - he told us via text that he was, quote, "not building on the seabed, or at all." End quote.

When we asked what permits. existed for such a project, he told us us that the construction taking place was completely above board.
