But while they survived the shooting, a woman in Corozal is dead after she was hit by a vehicle. 68-year-old Julia Hilda Maria Gongora was riding her bicycle when the car collided into her. Up until this morning, the driver of the vehicle had not been charged. Superintendent Alejandro Cowo spoke to us about the incident.

"On yesterday's date at about 6:50am, police visited an area between Third Street and 7th Avenue in Corozal Town where they observed a female who being place inside of an ambulance and she was being taken to the Corozal Community Hospital where she passed away sometime at about 10 in the morning. What police know so far is that the deceased is Julia Hilda Maria Gongora, 68 years, was riding her bicycle from a north to south direction when a vehicle being driven by the time by one MR Kumar, 40 years, was driving on Third Street south heading towards College Road when upon reaching at that intersection, he knocked down MS Gongora causing her to fall to the divider where she had received injuries to her body. So far Mr Kumar is in police custody and is awaiting charges to be levied against him."
Since then, 40-year-old Pankaj Kumar was arrested and charged for causing death by careless conduct.
