There was a robbery this afternoon in Belize City at a shop on Partridge Street, near to the Kremandala compound.

Ifzal Hussain, a 40-year-old Bangladeshi Shop owner, reported to police that at around 1:30 p.m., he was inside his shop, Koyes Nasim Groceries, when 4 men came to this burglar bar window. They ordered a juice, and when he turned around to get it for this pretend customer, one of the men pointed a firearm at him and demanded money. Fearing for his life, the shop owner handed over 9 hundred dollars in cash. The men grabbed the money and sprinted off, making their escape.

Police have already identified suspects, who they are actively pursuing. Police sources tell them that the robbery is linked to figures in one of the gangs - which held a truce press conference at the Kremandala compound two days ago.
