Earlier today, five men were detained after they were caught gambling at a house on King Street. And while in pre pandemic days, police may have turned a blind eye, 5 people who don't live together is considered a social gathering. But like many others who feel they have been "chanced" by the police, someone in the home took out their camera and began recording. Here is that video:
Police officer
"You are under arrest right."
Complainant
"I can video all I want. 5 old men are playing dominoes together and he is taking us to the station to charge us for illegal gathering."
Police officer
"Turn off that phone."
We note that according to the gambling act, playing such games outside of a gambling establishment is illegal.
