We also asked Hartin about Joel Young, a man who died a stone's throw from her Caye Caulker home after having stayed there, with a family member, for at least a week.
The cops say that a 26-year-old Young had been seen running down a street in the Bahia area. Sometime later he jumped over a fence but fell on the ground, hit his head, and died.
And with whispers on the island over the past few weeks being that Young had a relationship with Hartin many had begun to toss around the term "black widow."
This stemmed from Hartin's presence on the occasion of the body's identification where she says she was providing support to Young's sister, Jarine, who is a housemate, and who was too distraught to identify the body on her own.
Other reliable reports indicate that Young ultimately died of a heart attack after what his sister told police was a period of three days in which he was under the heavy influence of drugs.
Hartin wouldn't go into any detail about the case today but here's what she had to say about the allegations that she was anything other than a friend to the deceased Joel Young:
Cherisse Halsall
"The legend of Jamine Hartin continues to grow and in the last few weeks there has been rumours about you being a black widow."
Jasmine Hartin
"I've really got to let things that people say don't bother me and just know my own truth and unfortunately the news network that came out with that ridiculous article that's owned by some family in Belize that has a huge vendetta against me, so anything they say is completely slanderous and I did read the comments and a lot of people can see right through that, so in the end they tried to make me look bad and it made them look bad."
Police say that Young had no history of illness and no foul play is suspected in his death.
