For the last 25 years, The Belize Cancer Society advocating on behalf of Belizeans struggling with the different forms of this deadly disease. And now, they have their own cancer clinic right at their Belize City headquarters.
It's called the Belize Cancer Center Belize, and it's basically modeled after the very successful Belize Cancer Center in Dangriga, which first opened its doors back in October 2008. The Dangriga facility has been operating under the leadership of Dr. Ellsworth Grant and Nurse Dellone Pascascio, who both worked as health care professionals in the United States.
A strong partnership between the management of the Belize Cancer Center Dangriga, and the Belize Cancer Society has now led to this new cancer clinic in Belize City. It was officially opened today for business with a ceremony, and the press was invited.
Here's what the National President of Belize Cancer Society had to say about this major upgrade in service provision:
We understand that the facility will be operated by the leadership of the Belize Cancer Center Dangriga, and the Belize Cancer Society will act as administrators.
