More than a month after the plane landing in Bladen Village which implicated several police officers - who were all part of ACP Marco Vidal's Strike Team - and one of them being his own nephew - 7News has confirmed that the operations commander has now been placed on suspension.

Last month, the ComPol told us that the CEO in the Ministry of Home Affairs would be recommending a suspension to the Security Services Commission based on evidence of administrative irregularities that was obtained during the investigation on Vidal.

Well, reports are that on Friday, the commission accepted the recommendation of the CEO and suspended Vidal for 60 days. Seasoned observers suggest that for an officer of such senior rank to face such a severe suspension - it could irreversibly damage his career. Before the Bladen event, Vidal was effectively the third in command of the Department.
