And in other news, last week we told you about an elderly man whose assault was captured on camera. According to the commissioner of police, officers were already tasked with investigating the incident, which occurred on Kiskadee Street in Belmopan. But it's been over a week and the officers are no closer to identifying the victim or his attacker. We questioned the communications officer about it today.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Director, Belize Police Department
"Our 922 operator has sent out several flyers because we are trying to establish the identity of that person. As soon as we can establish his identity, then we will go forward from there. But I need your help in spreading that flyer publicly so that maybe somebody could, would recognize him - some relative or so - and they can help us in identifying that person."

"We know the incident occurred on Kiskadee Street in Belmopan, there is a car that the old man was leaning on and a house in the background as well, have police visited that residence to see if the perpetrator lives there."

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
"Police have made several attempts. This topic has not been swept away and we have community policing officers that are actively on the ground, that have canvassed house-to-house, trying to establish at least who that person was, and then we would be able to establish who the assailants are."

If you have any information on the identities of the victim or the perpetrator, you are asked to contact the police department or crimestoppers.
