Brave Cops Awarded

And finally tonight, four police officers were recognized for their heroism. Corporal Terry Reyes, Corporal Sydney Augustine, Constable Dervin Garcia, and Constable Fernando Chun got a distress call on February 8th that a woman and her vehicle had plunged into the Mopan River near Benque Viejo. The officers jumped into action, fearlessly diving into the river to save her. Both the woman and the vehicle were pulled from the river and saved her. The officers were awarded for their life saving heroism today. Officer in charge of the Cayo District, Assistant Commissioner Howell Gillett gave them a certificate and a cash reward.
