On Wednesday's newscast, we told you how police had to rush a man who was stabbed after getting robbed of several thousand dollars. Well tonight, the persons who the cops think were his assailants are on remand.
They are the 20-year-old James Bainton, a Construction Worker, his older brother, 23-year-old, Jeremiah Bainton, and Tanisha Bainton, who are all residents of Ladyville. They were arraigned today before Magistrate, Baha Shoman for the criminal offenses of robbery and wounding.
The police prosecutor objected to bail, which was upheld by the Magistrate. They have been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until May 10, 2022, their next court date.
As we told you 55-year-old Denham Roy Sr., a resident of Lords Bank showed up at the Ladyville Police Station at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning. He was seen suffering from multiple stab wounds to the body.
Reports to 7News were that about an hour or so before he showed up to the station, he was driving his vehicle in the vicinity of the junction between Poinsettia Street and Manta Ray Boulevard. While in that area, he was reportedly socializing with 4 men and a woman, and somehow, those people ended up assaulting and robbing him of almost 5 thousand dollars and his cell phone. During the robbery, he was stabbed multiple times.
