Crime thrives in many neighborhood with bushy lots - where criminals hide guns, lay in wait for the rivals, or use as camouflage when they run from police.
That's why today Eastern Division police spearheaded a clean-up effort in a hot spot areas of Belize City - using prison labour.
A group of workers traveled from the prison early this morning to remove the garbage and cut the very high bush in 4 empty lots in the City between Kraal, Rivero and Haynes street - which is where a murder happened on Monday night.
These lots are believed to have played a role in a recent crimes in that neighborhood.
