Last night we told you about the cruel murder of Ima Landero at the hand of her partner Augustin Gonzalez. It was a terrible incident, the kind that warns of the mortal danger of domestic violence which can escalate in a heartbeat.
Landero met her end at Legends 2000 on the Bullet Tree Road when her common law trapped her inside a bathroom stall with a door that only opened inward.
That particular feature of the stall made her rescue by security personnel almost impossible because Gonzalez used his weight and hers to push against the door effectively holding them off - which he continued to stab her.
It's a feature that the owner openly acknowledged as problematic yesterday and one he's moved quickly to remedy.
Now, things at the after dark locale have been modified with bar owner Ramon Galvez making best efforts to protect the women who frequent the bar:
Ramon Galvez, Owner, Legends 2000

"What we are doing is we are moving the lady's bathroom from behind here from the back. We are putting it to the front where you have more eye sight and we are putting the male bathroom in a way that nobody can go in there with somebody else to do harm. We are putting in doors that can be ripped apart and we are doing doors that we can see from underneath, so that we can protect our customers. Thats what we have to do, because this was an incident - I mean nearly 40 years I am doing this business, first time in my life I had this experience. We were not equip for someone to come and lock themselves into a bathroom. We are more equip if somebody comes and stab somebody in from, because we have 2 big securities, well trained. Something like that we couldn't prevent. There's no way we could have prevented that. I wouldn't put it no more than 10 minutes. We were calling 911, 911 wasn't responding. My security had to take his motorcycle to the police station and tell them we have a problem in Legends, then we got response from the police."
As we told you last night Ima Landero leaves behind two children ages 7 and 9 whom she shared with Augustine Gonzalez.
