But while the PM sees the CJ matter as an open and shut case, he refrained from commenting about the matter involving Forestry Officer, Daniel Chi. Chi is facing dismissal after he allegedly signed off on a call with the prime minister, who had made the call on behalf of Diani Chan, after Chan tried to import CITES banned plants.

It's a tangled tale, but it might end in Chi losing his job for doing what he thought was right. The media asked the PM if he thought it was fair:

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister

"I have no idea what you are talking about and that has not come to my attention, so I have no comment on that matter."

Reporter
"The CEO in the ministry has in fact said, do you think that is appropriate that he would get the highest penalty for what is a misdemeanour in essence?"

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"I don't know what they are doing, I don't even know Mr. Chi. Mr. Chi could walk into my room and I don't know and before I comment on anything I guess I would need to find out first what are the facts before I can give you a comment."
