And that change in department that the Minister spoke about is one we've reported before. Senior Superintendent Chris Noble is leaving San Pedro to utilize his leadership skills here in the city, where crime is rampant. We asked Minister Musa if he expects Noble to quell this surge the way he did on the island:
Courtney Menzies:
"Do you have high hopes, or high expectations, that he'll do the same here in Belize City?"
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"You know, I have high hopes not just in Mr Noble but in all our senior ranking officers. I think that they're all doing exceptional jobs, the individual that we're sending out to San Pedro, Mr Cowo, is an exceptional officer that works over at the CIB and I'm sure that he will do an exceptional job in San Pedro as well. So yes, we do hope that Mr Noble can apply himself here in Belize City and we are expecting some good results but I have that kind of confidence in all of my senior ranking officers and in all police officers in general."
