Tonight, Jasmine Hartin has said see you later to her second island home of Caye Caulker.
That news broke last night when OJ Elrington, the attorney who argued for alteration to the conditions of her bail, posted that Hartin had been successful in her request for a change of sign-in-location.
The question now is where has she gone?
Well, that's something Hartin is hoping the public won't find out, and that's because part of the argument for her move is that she has come to fear for her life. We heard more from Elrington when we caught up with him at the Supreme court this morning.
Cherisse Halsall:
"Sir, yesterday you successfully argued for Jasmine Hartin to be able to leave CAye Caulker it appears, which is curious because there has been a restraining order filed against Lionel Piggy James in that he cannot even visit the island of Caye Caulker anymore and that was for her safety and now she leaves Caye Caulker. Talk to me about why the court felt that this was a consideration that they should take at this time."
OJ Elrington, Attorney-At-Law

"Well, there were several different applications that we made for a variation of a number of the conditions of the bail and essentially it was. It is, I can't say why the judge made their decision but I can tell you what are the arguments that we put forward that the court accepted and varied the conditons of the bail based on the arguments that we made. It is one Ms Hartin expressed that she felt like her life was in danger in Caye Caulker even traversing to Caye Caulker and therefore she requested that the court change the location where she is able to check in to comply with the orders of the court and so the court accepted our arguments and therefore changed the location where she is able to check-in according to the conditions of her bail."
Cherisse Halsall:
"It would seem then that the threat is not coming from Mr Neal because she is in fact leaving an area where the law has said he cannot go."
OJ Elrington, Attorney-At-Law
"Well, I can't speak. I know that she has expressed that indeed Mr Neal is one of the reasons that she does not feel safe in Caye Caulker but indeed she has expressed that he is not the sole person whom she feels threatened in Caye caulker and therefore for those reasons she has requested to, she has moved to a different location and has requested for the court to allow her to do her check-ins at a different location."
Hartin has not yet retained Elrington in her criminal matter.
Additional alterations made to the conditions of her bail are a later curfew meaning that she won't have to be indoors by 6:00 pm.
She's also gotten a respite on those daily check-ins and will be checking in on a less frequent basis from here on out. Elrington says that argument was successfully made because Hartin's quote: "medical condition" had made daily check-ins quote: "onerous."
