And after the ComPol's interview yesterday, he received criticism for chalking the incident up to simply human imperfection. He was accused of being too aloof, and not caring, but this morning, he clarified those statements. He also added that, still, he doesn't believe the officers were malicious when they left Uh in the van.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"And it is something that we cannot countenance and as much as the officers are saying that they simple forgot and again, there is nothing to refute that they forgot the man in the van, there is nothing to indicate that the conduct of the officers was intentional, and the law certainly deals different with internet and negligence. That's the reason why the regime of law contemplates that as human beings, we are going to err. When we err, if our error resulted in injuries to person or losses to person then we must be held accountable and it was in that context yesterday I was saying to Hipolito in the interview that it does not matter whether or not the officer made a mistake or they forgot because the young man's life has been lost. I see that they took that to mean that I don't care about the young man's death. I have sons, I have brothers and if I were to condone any such conduct from police officers, then what am I saying about myself?"
