For the past two nights, we've been reporting the details of the Belmopan car crash that claimed the life of 48-year-old Steven Savarda, an American who seemed to be passing through Belize on a two week visit.

Just before 5:00 on Wednesday, Savarda, driving toward the George Price Highway on the Hummingbird Highway ran off the road and slammed his Audi 4-door SUV into a cement culvert.

Tonight we can tell you that eyewitnesses believe he died on impact, as he was said to be found without a pulse by the first man on the scene. That man, is an employee of the Bravo Motors dealership located right where the crash took place.

Today via Zoom we talked to Bravo's director Zac Bouloy (BULL-WAH) about what his team saw when they became the first responders to a fatal car crash.

Zac Bouloy, Sales Executive/ Director, Bravo Motors
"We're blessed to have our security personnel be ex-BDF personnel. He rushed out there, inspecting the scene but unfortunately he met the worst-case scenario. The minute he went out there you could clearly identify that it was a lifeless person inside that vehicle, no but their reaction they ran out immediately inspected the scene and immediately called the emergency services so that the police and the ambulance and the fire engine could dispatch."

Cherisse Halsall:
"So you're saying that the driver died on impact?"

Zac Bouloy, Sales Executive/ Director, Bravo Motors
"It appears so, yes. Yeah, there was no pulse but the time my security personnel got from his desk to the accident there was no pulse."

Cherisse Halsall:
"I heard it said from another of your employees based here in Belize City that the team was really shaken up by the incident. How do you see that?"

Zac Bouloy, Sales Executive/ Director, Bravo Motors
"Yes, well the bang was very loud, I mean it was raining but it was clearly a very hard hit onto our driveway, any accident it's never a good situation but this one it hit so close to us, everyone ran out and we are all human beings. If we see an accident like that, we want to help. we are all hoping for the best so arriving at a scene first and seeing the worst-case scenario wasn't pleasant for anybody here on the team."

"The police showed up very quickly after that accident, we notified the police, and they showed up very quickly, blocked off traffic, and managed the crowd quite well, in my opinion."

Savarda's SUV had California plates.
