Eight adults and a 17-year-old minor were in court today after they allegedly stole over sixty one thousand dollars' worth of items from Dive Haven Resort. All 9 persons were charged jointly for theft and they were arraigned this morning in the Belize City Magistrate Court.
Among the 8 adults were 19-year-old Gabino Nah Jr, 38-year-old Gabino Nah Sr, and 58-year-old Juan Perez, all fishermen from Chunox Village in Corozal.
According to reports, the 9 persons involved in this crime went to Dive Haven Resort on the Turneffe Atoll on September 30 and stole several items including two square tables, snorkeling and diving equipment, 3 outboard engines, and more. They all pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Bail was offered to them in the sum of $5,000 each, which they met. Their next court date is set for December 1st.
