Police commanders gathered today at the training academy in Belmopan for their first COMPSTAT meeting in over a year.

COMPSTAT is a strategic review system to analyze crime trends and police performance by zones and areas. And, more importantly, it's a means to hold commanders directly accountable for incidences of crime in their precincts and formation.

But, the meetings had been on pause due to COVID. It resumed today in Belmopan where the commissioners discussed trouble areas and possible solutions:

And, regarding that troublesome Antelope Street area, the police have made one arrest for a killing on an adjacent street. It is in the case of Karl Lamb Jr. Today, they charged a 17-year-old student of Antelope Street Extension for the crime of murder. He was charged in the presence of his mother.
