The owners of Eruption Nightclub were in court today after they allegedly allowed a teenage girl to enter their establishment this past Saturday.
On Monday, we told you that this teenager was allegedly raped and left on the Phillip Goldson Highway after a night out at the club. Her alleged rapist, 25-year-old Michael Flowers, was in court as well earlier this week and is currently remanded.
But since the victim is only 17-years-old, the police also launched an investigation into the club, and at the end, charged 44-year-old Mira Estella Portillo and her common law husband, 51-year-old Hector Choj - both managers at the establishment - with one count of admitted a person under 18 years of age.
The couple appeared in front of a Senior Magistrate with their attorney, Richard "Dickie" Bradley, who was later joined by Norman Rodriguez. They both pleaded not guilty. There was no objection to bail and it was offered to them both in the sum of $1,000 each plus one surety of the same amount, which they met by midday today. They are due back in court on December 28th. Police have reportedly recommended that the popular club between Ladyville and Los Lagos be shut down.
