Today, the police department took time out to recognize civilians who worked closely with them to curb crime in the past year. These are community leaders who either engaged in programs, mediations, and even provided some guidance for troubled youths and gang members. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dr Richard Rosado, they're hoping that the awards will encourage these leaders to continue assisting the department - especially in keeping the murder count down.
With last night's murder, the 2022 count is up to 110, 15 less than last year.
