So, while Vidal's actions were not criminal, the compel did concede that it was a misjudgment. But, we asked about what looks like a pattern of behavior when Vidal's nephew Elmer ah is accused of a crime:
Jules Vasquez
"But you can see this is the second time he's done something questionable for his family. You remember when Mr. Nah was detained at the ISF, he went there and I think it's Mr. Nah's wife who he successfully managed to get out of custody, I believe was the issue at the time. Again, you said not a wise move. But isn't there now a pattern of behaviour? I agree he's no longer assistant commissioner, but there is clearly a pattern of behaviour here."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Certainly, there is some degree of misjudgement on his part, in terms of the things that he does and I agree, Jules, he should know better. But I do not guide Mr. Vidal's movement neither do I guide his way of thinking, but I can assure the public that if it were that he had committed any offence, I would have ensured that the law takes its course."
Jules Vasquez
"The police have a habit of bringing charges even though sometimes they know they may not stand in court, let them go to court to figure it out, but you never did that with Mr. Vidal. Mr. Vidal never saw the inside of a cell. He saw the inside of a station, but he was never detained like a normal citizen or a somebody doing something suspicious would be in a such a crime. Again, it seems that you all are giving the man a bligh as they would say in creole, because he is a former member of the fraternity."

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"You know Jules, many people failed comprehension at school and many people seems not to know what is a pattern and you're trying to paint it to say that there is a pattern, when in fact there is none. If the people had made a complaint to the police, we certainly would have proceeded so long as all the elements were there, because remember I have also said, it is not just them making a complaint. In order for the offence to have been committed, there would have had to be witness or witnesses in either of these investigations, which there are not. So there are several factors that you must take into consideration. So let us not try to paint a picture, because you know that is what the public want to hear, when in fact it is not the reality. We have to be truthful and honest in what we are saying."
Jules Vasquez
"When someone makes consistent misjudgements about losing his place in a fraught situation, a tense situation, it is indicative of someone who has lived with impunity, who has never had to answer to the law or to his administrators. He do what he wants."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Well, he certainly had to answer. He was brought in and questioned."
