Another Belizean man is missing tonight, and his family fears the worst. That's after George Hernandez aka "Tarrus" took the bus from Teakettle to Belize City on Monday but still hasn't turned up.
Tonight his mother says it's not like him because no matter how bad things got he's never failed to call. George Hernandez has gone missing during an extremely difficult time for his family because, at the start of this year, his 17-year-old brother, a high school student in his last year, was charged with murder.
We caught up with his mother Sherlette Hernandez just as she'd finished reporting her oldest son's disappearance to the police. Here's what she had to say about the start of her family's efforts to locate him.
Sherlette Hernandez, Mother Of Missing Man

"We got threatened for the same Adrian and George Hernandez, we. Get threatened. We talked to him because her sister passed away so we were seeing him all through when his sister passed. It's just Monday, let me see, Monday my Uncle called me. No, Adrian came for court on the 13th of March and I went to court when I got home he called me and said mommy did Adrian come down for court and I told him yes. He said, Well, Mommy I will catch the bus right now and I will come back. That was Monday `and that was it we didn't see him anything and a couple, like after 7 I saw CIB start to come through the alley where he lives, where he is by his sisters there looking for George Hernandez, they went, CIB, they went to the Boulevard to my sister looking for George Hernandez and they went on New Road looking for George Hernandez so we wanted to know where he was."
Cherisse Halsall:
"Is there anything that makes you think that he is in danger?"
Sherlette Hernandez, Mother Of Missing Man
"Well mama I don't know what to say because I don't know what he's doing out there. I can't point out anything about him at that moment there because he doesn't do anything in front of us for us to see what he's doing."
"According to my uncle he had on long jeans pants and that button-up dressing shirt that the young boy like use, a dark blue and he had on his knapsack when he said he took the boat to come to Belize. We don't really know where to start off because we don't know where he is."
Cherisse Halsall:
"And, this is not like him to not answer the phone, no."
Sherlette Hernandez, Mother Of Missing Man
"I tell everybody it doesn't matter what we've gone through, what he put us through, he would always call his sisters, text my phone or call my little grandson and ask him what's granny doing because I tell you we aren't really pulling string for what happened already."
Also notable is that Herandez served as a bodyguard for Jasmine Hartin in the days after she and the Ashcroft alliance parted ways.
Anyone who has information on his whereabouts, is asked to please call his mother at 627-6578 or 922-TIPS.
