At the top of the news, you heard all about the four officers that are currently being investigated for the killing of a teenager. And while the ComPol no doubt had a rise in blood pressure when learning about the killing, it wasn't the only rogue cop he had to deal with this weekend.
A Corporal is currently facing internal charges after he allegedly stole money on a Frazer's bus. The ugly scene unfolded three days ago on an Orange Walk Street just 2 lots away from the bus terminal.
Video shows Corporal Cob being insistently accused directly of theft - which he does not refute, and then pushes his hand into his pants to retrieve the money after the civilians on the bus forced him to come clean.
And today the ComPol said it was one of the most embarrassing incidents for the department - so much so that it left him at a loss for words.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"The officer on the bus: It's just... I don't know. From what we know is that he alighted the bus and may have taken the cash bag of the conductor and took the money therefrom and hid the money in his brief, I think. I don't know. I saw him going down and took out the money and as you can see in the video he was questioned over and over. He denied having the money and then eventually he acceded to having the money and he went inside the bus and took out the money from his private parts area and returned it. That is extremely embarrassing."
"In a situation like that, I really wish that I could just write a letter and signed it and tell the man you're dismissed. But unfortunately, we have a system that requires due process and so the matter is with PSB. That police officer was interdicted from duty today. I expect that by the end of the day PSB should be levelling charges on him internally, because I am told that the bus owners do not want any criminal action in respect thereof."
"We will ensure that the tribunal is heard in the most expeditious manner whilst still providing him with his right to due process, because I don't want that we do something that he end up appealing and have to come back."
"I don't think that police man should ever be allowed to wear the police uniform again. That is saying what I have to say in the most cautious way I possibly can."
Up to this evening, Corporal Cob remained on active duty, at a checkpoint in Belize City.
