And the Cayo District's other fatal accident happened on Friday night - and the victim was a man said the be lying on the road.
31-year-old Horace Poper was crushed on the side of the road, at around mile 51 on the George Price Highway.
But, nonetheless, police have issued a notice of intended prosecution to the driver:

"We have a report of a fetal traffic accident that took place on Friday through the first March, sometime around 10:00 PM in the Cayo District where police visited a scene at 51 and a half miles on the George Price Highway, where they saw motionless body of Horace Poper, 31 years. Initial investigation revealed that Guillermo Garcia 50 years Belizean taxi driver was driving his vehicle in that area and upon approaching, sorry, mile, 51 and a half, he ran over Poper who was lying on the highway."
"At the time of the accident, visibility was poor and, uh, Guillermo was detained, served with an NIP and hopefully we will be leaving charges upon Mr. Garcia, noh."
