And, of course, Patrick Faber is not among the Shyne supporters. Last week he wrote an angry letter to the party Chairman Mike Peyreffitte, accusing Barrow of "undemocratic and manipulative tactics" in trying to coerce his support.
Barrow bolstered by the support at the NPC, denied it today:
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"I didn't see the letter, so I can't comment on it. But 102-16 is almost unanimous, its more than 2/3 even, so the statistics tell the truth of the tale. There was no need for any coercion, because 102-16 - you guys have always reminded me since my last convention that I only won that by 3. So now that the tables have reversed, I think it's only fair to accept when there is a super majority and the party loyalist, leaders, officials have all come together to agree on a way forward and that is our focus so that we can deliver in the municipal elections and deliver in the next general elections, so that we can be the UDP government that the people need."
Reorter
"I know that you've mediated between candidates who are contesting for an area to try to have some type of unity. Was there any sort of mediation that you attempted though between Ian Jones and Patrick Faber?"

Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"I have been working behind the scenes to resolve the matter in Collet for months and I will continue to work behind the scenes so that we can have a resolution that is favourable to all involved in Collet."
Reporter
"Has your relationship with Mr. Faber improved any at all?"
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"As I said I will continue to work to bring the matter to a resolution in the best interest of the party."
