Earlier in the news, we brought you updates on the Edibles Outrage from parents, medical professionals, and government officials. But what about the vendors? And no, not those who sold the sweets to the children, but the ones who are being vilified for it.
Alfred McCulloch owns the little barber shop that sits right outside St Luke's fence and he said a man on a bicycle asked him if he wanted to buy some of the packets for resale. He claims that this person specifically told him that the children would be interested in buying them.
At first McCulloch said no, but he eventually bought twenty packs. However, he decided to have a taste before selling it and that's when he realized this snack wasn't for kids.
And he told us that even though he never sold them to any of the students, he's still being accused, and was even detained. Today, he spoke to us to clear his name.
And another man - this one a civilian employee of the Customs Department - said that he was wrongfully accused of selling the edibles on social media. He told us that he was at work when the incident happened and has never sold drugs in his life.
As we have previously reported on, both children and the school's warden report buying packets from a female vendor. Some children were given the snacks by their relatives, who did not know what they contained.
