Two little boys are left traumatized after witnessing their father's murder after 7 last night in Dangriga Town. 35-year-old Elroy Quinonez was shot multiple times, most of the bullets hitting his face.

His young sons were right beside him when the incident happened, while the rest of his family were inside. His mother said that when she saw the state her son was in, she knew he wouldn't make it.

Courtney Menzies visited the family home down south today and has this story.

A father of four was ruthlessly executed as he sat at the corner of Zericote and Banak Streets in Dangriga Town last night. 35-year-old Elroy Quinones was hanging out with his two sons when the gunman, dressed in dark clothing, fired off six shots, five of which caught him in the head, and one in the waist.

Quinones hung on by a thread until he got to the hospital, where he ultimately succumbed.

His mother told us today that when they heard the gunshots, her daughter called the cops, not knowing her son had been hit.

"I was inside the house watching TV when I heard like about 5-6 gunshots and I just manage to rush upstairs to check to see what happened because at first I thought it was popshots, so when I heard a second amount again, that made me end up back upstairs and from the window I saw a motorcycle but I saw somebody crouch by the motorcycle."

"But I look good from through the window because it wasn't a good distance, I could see it, but I see the clothes and when I see the clothes, I said, that look like Elroy clothes and when I looked again, I saw his son come and when his son come, I see his son hold his hand and he bawled. I run downstairs, and I told his twin sister, it's Elroy, and all of us ran outside bawling. When we reach outside, it's then I saw my son on the ground, face full of blood."

"When his sister picked him up, she manage to pick him up and she was talking to him but I only see the blood gushing from out of his face. I don't know where all blood is coming out from."

And while it was a terrifying sight for Quinones' mother and siblings, his 11 and 9 year old sons witnessed the entire ordeal, leaving them traumatized.

"The little boys were running bawling up and down the street, I even lost the two boys because I didn't know where they ended up. It's when I reach the hospital and I was looking around for the little boy, that's when I heard his ma came to pick up one of them then the mom came to pick up the next one because it's two different parents."

"They already told me, the little boy told me because he's like this with his pa. anywhere his pa is, he is, so he know his pa friends from who is not his friends and he know them by name so the little boy called the person's name, he told me gran, it's certain person shoot my pa. As he saw me he told me."

And while the family hopes for justice, it is little consolation for Quinones' mother and eight siblings. Green explained that while he wasn't perfect, the entire family did their best to steer him right, and they all looked after him closely, making his death harder for them to bear.

"Miss, he broke down, my son up there, that one he is a BDF soldier, everybody broke down right now because Elroy, every know him as Cab, he was our eyeball. He is our eyeball, so everybody checks on him on a daily base. See? That's what has them like that, everybody just broke down, like the chain just broke."

"I leave everything in God's hands, I don't have anything negative to say, nothing, it happened to me, it happened to a lot of us mothers, I accept it already, nothing negative to say, all I have to remember, him with his joyous time that he will make us laugh, talk, do all kind of craziness. I won't tell you that my son is a perfect son but I talk to my son everyday, my children, I talk to my children everyday, and I talk to he special. Every morning he comes over, if he doesn't come over, I will call him, I will make sure that I call him, Elroy, where are you? Right here, ma. I will make sure anywhere he goes, I will check where he is. But it just happened, what can I do?"

Along with his sons, Quinones also leaves behind two daughters, ages 11 and 4.

Several persons have been detained, but no arrests have been made so far.
