After 6 Years on Remand, Santiago’s Killers Convicted

In April of 2017, Toledo resident Santiago Garcia was viciously chopped to death in Trio Village by a group of three men and a 16 year old.

For the past 6 years and two months, they have been on remand for murder but 4 accused men got their verdict today. The accused are Sabanito Cal - represented by Leeroy Banner, Tyrone Ba - represented by Emerita Anderson, Arnoldo Xol - represented by Ronnell Gonzalez and Leonardo Ba - represented by Oscar Selgado.

Their trail was held in Punta Gorda in November of 2021, and the prosecutor Javier Chan called a total of 23 witnesses.

Today, Justice Antonette Moore found that all 4 accused were not guilty of Murder, but they were all Guilty of manslaughter.

She will sentence them on the fifth of July.
