But there are even more details coming to light tonight, in an interview CTV3 carried late this evening with Rosa's niece Karen Romero.

Here's what she told them about how a routine leisurely evening turned violent. Cherisse Halsall has the translation from Spanish:

Karen Romero, Eyewitness

"My aunt to me to go and buy her 6 Belikin beers and I went to buy the 6 Belikins and we were here with her mom in this house that's where we were and they were here because they were fighting here among themselves and then afterward they chased us And she came she had gone to call to call the police because she said that her boyfriend - William Olivera, his woman Daisy Lopez. She begun saying that she wanted "papel" and that she was going to stab her husband with a knife and my aunt said that instead she would stab her and she kept saying I'm not your husband he told her and she got upset and told him to give her her papers and he didn't want to hand them over so..."

Reporter:
"What papers?"

Karen Romero, Eyewitness
"Papers, documents for her children and, I can't speak well. Yes because she was fighting her with her husband in the street arguing and then, I can't say it even though I saw it all. So, I started to tell my aunt not to get involved because this would blow up and she started to argue with her and then she left and when I came she was already bathed in blood and her boyfriend who was with her took her inside, here this is where the passed and he took her inside, and we helped her by putting alcohol we gave her a glass of water, and she was saying that it hurt. She was saying she was with pain and that something hurt and I went to call someone to take her to the emergency so that someone could help her and I turned around to talk to her uncle and, I can't talk auntie, I can't say more."

"She had her, she was under, Daisy was under and Rosa was on top and Daisy's husband had grabbed Rosa because by the time I saw her, she was already wounded and bleeding, bathed in blood."

"I don't know if when her husband grabbed her, he stabbed her. I'm not sure, I didn't see because I was over there, but when I saw I ran over to help her. He was showing me the knife like he was going to stab me, because I ran around even me they were saying they were going to stab me."

Again police say that they have Rosa's assailant, a woman she would have thought of as her sister-in-law, in custody.
