In other court news, Belizean American 34 year old Lolman Logan was visiting San Pedro on vacation in 2018 when he got caught up in a murder case.
Logan, a resident of Corozal Town was charged jointly along with Rufino Hernandez for the murder of 21 year old Christopher Meighan.
In September of 2018, Meighan's body was reportedly found by police in a sitting position displaying multiple stab wounds in Central Park Hotel in San Pedro,. Logan was detained at the Phillip Goldson airport attempting to make his way back to the US while police investigations were underway. The trial for Meighan's murder began in June of 2022 and lasted only two days.
Today Justice Ricardo O'Neil handed down his verdict today, and declared Logan not guilty of murder. His decision stems from multiple inconsistencies within the case, one of them being a lack of evidence from the crown. Further details suggest that a year and a few months after Hernandez was charged for murder, a directive was sent from the DPP's office to withdraw charges from him as well.
