And while the department continues to monitor Budna's case, authorities have yet to establish a motive behind the killing of Belize City Businessman Ricardo Borja - 9 days ago.
Since the shooting, a voice recording of Borja speaking to another individual was uploaded to YouTube where he revealed numerous names and fraudulent business transactions involving land and money. It sounded a lot like one of those recordings which are made to be aired "in the event of one's demise." This morning on Sunup we asked the commissioner for an update on Borja's case and how the mysterious recording ties into the investigation.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Well yes some names were called in the recording and we have received that recording. The investigators are looking at it and there is certainly going to be a need to call in some people to be interviewed. We have one prime suspect we are looking at at this time but I don't want to go too much into it because the matter is still pretty much under investigation and I don't have to say nothing that maybe jeopardize the investigation."
