Tonight, 31-year-old so-called sicario, Javier Montano Martinez is facing another immigration charge. He appeared in the Belize City Magistrates court again today where he was charged again - this time for failure to comply with the permissions of an employment permit and employing 5 Mexican nationals at a construction site.

His attorney Bryan Neal made an objection to this second round of charges. His preliminary objection details that his client was in custody for a week and four days later than the constitution allows which is a violation of his constitutional rights. According to Neal his client should have been deported after the necessary fines were paid but instead he was rearrested, charged and remanded to prison again. Neal asked the court to not allow the new charges to be read to his client.

In response to this while court was in session again today, Assistant director from the Belize Immigration Department Ismael Pulido informed the court that Martinez was first detained by the Belize Police Department before being handed over to Immigration and due to the development of the investigation being done under the police department new charges had surfaced. Attorney Neal then withdrew his objection and 3 new charges were read to Martinez.

He pleaded guilty and was fined another $1,000 plus a $5.00 cost or court which he must pay or face six months imprisonment. Neal was able to mitigate on behalf of Martinez for a lesser fine other than the maximum penalty for an offender with more than one conviction which is $3,000 dollars.
