We've heard of sleeping policemen as a term used for speed bumps which slow traffic and create greater road safety. But this morning a literally sleeping policeman at the wheel rammed right into the back of a parked vehicle. It happened just after 5:30 this morning on Amandala Drive.
Officers, Albert Quiros and Elvis Guzman, both 29 years old were driving in the direction of Zacaranda Street when Quiros dozed off and drove straight into the back of a a black Mazda tribute SUV owned by Sheryl Staine. Cpl Guzman sustained a cut injury to the right side of his forehead and complained of pain to both arms and legs. Reports say that Quiros will be tested to see if he was driving under the influence.
