He's not known for much official travel, but the Deputy Prime Minister is in Havana Cuba at the G-77 Summit of developing nations and China. Hyde arrived yesterday and delivered a speech praising Cuba for its history of helping nations:

Cordel Hyde, Deputy Prime Minister

"That is Cuba for you. People always give above what you can afford. All you have ever done is give and give and give. There are brothers and sisters' nations all over the world. And for that we owe you a tremendous debt of gratitude."

The focus of the meeting is the scientific and technological divide between rich and poor countries and its impact on development.
