He was 17 when he participated in an armed robbery of A & R in 2019. And today, the magistrate was merciful when she sentenced Keon Budna.

The magistrate found him guilty of aggravated assault and burglary instead of sending him to jail, he was imposed three non-custodial sentences of fines. This was after the court heard from character witnesses including his mother and the accused himself. His attorney discussed the mercy shown by the court:

Norman Rodriguez, Attorney
"It is significant because it is a display of justice being served at the mercy of the court in exercising its discretion to fine and not confine, when it could have confine. But as you might have heard, your Honour did state that the court was minded to impose a custodial sentence but was moved, if I may see that much by the testimony of the mitigating witnesses and the submissions made and this whole show of remorse."

Budnah was fined $5,015 dollars. He was accused along with a 19 year old - who has since absconded.
