And while MOE's STEAM Academy project appears to be full steam ahead, Minister Fonseca told us today that their next project involves the renovation of two libraries in the City. Fonseca says that they are aiming to create a family friendly space that will influence more children to want to come in and read and explore.
Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education
"We are starting with the two big ones the Turton Library on North Front street and of course the Leo Bradly library on princess margaret drive and so we have a project that we are working on to completely transform those two libraries as well as Stella Maris school. So there will be a lot of work starting there in January in those libraries to completely transform them, transform Stella Maris into a truly inclusive educational institution that's welcoming for people with diverse abilities and to make the libraries more relevant to the needs of people today we want young people to go to these libraries so we have to have full WiFi access and we have to really transform the layout of the library and make it more appealing make them community spaces where young people and families feel like they can go and really enjoy their experience at the libraries."
