The Meighan brothers recently got off gang charges and they have more good news tonight after an aggravated assault case was dismissed when they appeared in the Belize City Magistrate's Court.
Tyrone Terike Meighan, 29, and his elderly brother, Ellis Gilbert Meighan, both Car Dealers of #27 Banak Street, walked out the court free men.
That's after police insisted that Elroy Jones was accusing them of assault with a machete - even though Jones came to our studio in April to insist he wanted no part of any such accusation. But, it was strategic for police to press on with the charges so the brothers bail for another offense would be revoked and they would be remanded.
Today in court - Jones got his chance to tell it to a judge where he requested no further court action, and the charges were dismissed.
Both sides seemed happy to have it behind them and barely spared a word with our court reporter:

"They just throw it out."

"Which one of the case, is it the aggravated assault?"
Tyrone Meighan, Charge Thrown Out
"Yes."

"Ever since you have said you never wanted any court action, right?"

Elroy Jones
"No, and they just violated my rights. So at the end of the day that's what happened - they found it in my favour, because they are putting me in a position where I was always on the go."
The dispute between the two parties was allegedly over a stolen necklace.
