And while Valentine's was the first murder in December - tonight we know that it wasn't. It was the second; police have confirmed that senior citizen William Watson was murdered.
He's the 82 year old who was found dead inside his home in the Zericote Street area after a fire destroyed the majority of the structure earlier that morning. The theory at the time was that he died for unknown reasons and the fire had started due to an electrical device that had overheated. But tonight we can now confirm that Watson was murdered inside his home prior to the fire. Watson's Post Mortem details that he was fatally stabbed as many as 12 times to the neck.
It is not known if the killer is the one who then set his house on fire.
