Elderly Man On Bicycle Cart Killed

A collision on the Philip Goldson Highway near A and R Storage in Orange Walk Town claimed the life of an elderly man this morning.

72 year old Jose Luis Garcia was riding a three wheel cart when he was struck by a pickup truck and flung to the pavement.

According to police, the driver of the pickup truck was headed towards Ladyville when he collided into Garcia who was riding with a sack of beer bottles in the front of the cart. Efforts to locate Garcia's family have been fruitless. A post mortem is yet to be conducted on the body and a urine sample has been taken from the driver.
