And there was a small victory for the UDP over the weekend after they won the bi-election for the Chairmanship of Concepcion Village in Corozal Southwest. The bi-election came after the PUP chairperson resigned, and rather than vote for her party's new candidate, the villagers went with Noel Mattu.
Like we said, a minor victory, but for the UDP which is hungry for any kind of victory - a single chairmanship has suddenly become a really big deal.
Barrow boasts that this Chairmanship is an indication of what's to come in March 2024.

The People's United Party has been a complete disappointment to al those who thought that things would improve whereas things have gotten worse."

PUPs as you see in Belmopan with Oscar Mira and Sharon Palacio fighting, as you see in PG with the councillors accusing the mayor, the PUP mayor, the PUP councillors accusing the PUP mayor of misappropriating funds and all over, the Garcia's versus the Vega's in Corozal. Again the PUP is falling apart. Pollard versus Wagner in Belize City, the PUP is falling apart and what has happened in Concepcion will happen March 6th 2024 all across the municipalities."
The Prime Minister told us that his party's northern caucus was not properly activated - and that he did not even know about the bi-election.
