Gunmen shot and killed Paul Jex in San Pedro in 2018. In July, 24 year old Delson Paguada, and his little brother 21 year old Tionne Paguada were convicted of the murder.

At the time, they had an outburst in the court - and that's why today for their sentencing - GI3 officers covered the courthouse area - to ensure security. The brothers were heavily shackled from their waist to their feet and handcuffed before they were placed in the convict box before Justice Nigel Pilgrim - with a Gi3 officer standing right behind them.

He imposed a 30 year fixed sentence upon the brothers, and then considered aggravating and mitigating factors. He noted that there was clear premeditation in the public, broad daylight murder where they ambushed Jex and one of the men grabbed him off his bicycle, while another shot him first in the head, and then four more times.

In the end, he gave Delson 24 years and Tione 21; he was just 15 when the murder occurred.
